How we use cookies
A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site.
We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse information about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to your needs and those of other users. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.
Cookies help us provide you with a better website by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.
You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer.
How we use your information
The information that we collect and store relating to you is primarily used to enable us to provide and improve our services to you.
To check whether you are eligible for a free Chlamydia test kit, you are asked to supply your postcode and date of birth. This is purely to verify that you fall within the remit of the programme.
If you are eligible, you are subsequently asked to supply your name and contact details. This information is collected by us and it will be passed onto The Doctors Laboratory (TDL), the body which processes the Chlamydia tests.
The Terrence Higgins Trust and TDL adhere to strict privacy guidelines in order to protect your data, and all information will be treated in strict confidence.
Please be advised that we never reveal information about identifiable individuals to third parties but we may, on occasion, provide them with aggregate statistical information about visitors to our website. This information would never identify you in any way.
