Chlamydia is the most commonly diagnosed sexually transmitted infection (STI). As many as 1 in 14 sexually active young people have it - both men and women. But once it’s been diagnosed, you can get rid of it really easily with the right treatment.

The test is simple and you can do it yourself: you just ‘pee in a pot’.

The treatment is usually very simple too. Most people diagnosed with Chlamydia just have to take four antibiotic tablets together once.

But I haven’t got any symptoms

If you have ever had unprotected sex or shared sex toys, it’s worth getting tested for Chlamydia, even if you don’t have any symptoms . If you have it and don’t get treatment, the infection can spread. You can then get serious health problems.

Even if you don’t think you’ve put yourself at risk, taking a Chlamydia test is still a good idea. It’s a simple way of finding out how easy it is to take a sexual health test and proving to yourself that it is confidential.
